Middle School Student Starts Prayer Group

Student Leaders Speak

“What inspired me to start our prayer group was the EQUIP event where one of the high school students talked about how he started a prayer group at his school and how it made a big impact. I thought that a prayer group would be a great way to show Jesus to others. At my school not that many students know Jesus so it’s important for us to pray for them. We have put up posters, made announcements and asked students to come. I would say to someone looking to start a prayer group to get a day, a room and teacher sponsor. Then ask your friends to come. Make sure you tell them if they are not comfortable praying out loud – they don’t have to because some students told me they didn’t want to go because of that. Also make a prayer list for things and people that need prayer and then pray.”
