“I have been leading Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Valley Center for five years. It has been a wonderful journey seeing what God has been doing in the lives of students within our district. In the beginning of January Kristen Joyal (Valley Center HS FCA Sponsor) and I (Cader Newton – FCA Student Leader) felt led to hold a Prayer and Worship Night for all high school students in the surrounding areas. We wanted to create an event that God could really take control of and move students’ hearts.

We had about two full months to plan out this event. Due to the kindness of many donors we were able to cater in all you can eat tacos – which were delicious. Overall we raised almost $1,500. We then were able to find two student worship bands called “Presence Worship” and “Riverlawn Student Worship”. They were both amazing and you could really feel the presence of God when they played. Lastly, Riverlawn Christian Church was kind enough to let us use their student worship center. We could not have done this event without all these people who contributed.

Then the night came for the event on March 10th. We were all so excited to see what God was going to do that night in the lives of many students. As the night began students started coming in to eat tacos, then we all went in the auditorium to have a series of prayer prompts and worship songs led by different students. By the end of the night we had over 120 students from more than 10 different churches and from more than 12 different schools. God really changed lives this night and worked wonders in student’s walk with Him. By the end of the night the only thing that I could say was ‘God is Good.'”
